This course starts with the trainee with their firearm in its holster, and goes from there. Proper technique in drawing from the holster is a major focus. Once safe in this action, the trainee will incorporate the follow-up actions of establishing a proper grip, sight picture and alignment, and trigger control.  Once able to apply these fundamentals, further training aspects include applying them to basic footwork drills (stepping and pivoting), moving and shooting, recognition of cover and concealment, and multiple shooting positions.

TOPICS:

  • Proper draw from holster.
  • Establishing proper grip from the draw.
Establishing sight picture and alignment from the draw.
  • Incorporating draw stroke into movement
  • Stepping and pivoting while shooting
  • Multidirectional movement and shooting
  • Identifying cover and concealment.
DETAILS:

  • Course open to anyone interested in intermediate skill firearm training. Age 21+.
  • You must have K&B, LLC’s Introduction to the Modern Handgun, NRA Basic Handgun, or similar training/experience.
  • You must have a Michigan CPL (or have had the course necessary to get one) or commensurate experience. (K&B, LLC staff will determine valid ‘commensurate experience’.)
  • This is NOT a basic handgun class teaching basic fundamentals. It is an intermediate level class. Please do not think you can ‘catch up’ quickly at this class. If you are inexperienced but would like to attend, please let us know, as there are training opportunities before this class to meet the prerequisites.
